More than 50% of households in Alamance County struggle to afford the basic necessities of housing, childcare, food, transportation, health care and technology. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, their struggle is even more difficult.

Downtown Burlington is stewarded by the Burlington Downtown Corporation (BDC), a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to promoting downtown and offering support to existing and potential business and property owners.  The BDC is charged with administering the the NC Main Street program at the local level and building a public-private partnership to spur economic development in partnership with the NC Department of Commerce and the City of Burlington.

​Destination Downtown Mebane, Inc. was founded in 2001 and is comprised of businesses located in historic downtown Mebane, NC.  Our goal is to enhance, develop, revitalize and preserve the historic downtown business district. We successfully accomplish this by working together as an association to sponsor monthly events to explore downtown.

​Our steering committee is working diligently to provide resources to all businesses in the downtown area on how to navigate through the pandemic. Resources from the county, state and federal level are being disseminated to each owner as we receive them. Information is updated on our Facebook page about each DD member’s current state.
